Forest Fuel 2018
Permanent projection artwork at Sävenäsverket biomass plant in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Illustrating the link between industry and nature, this site-specific artwork highlights the building’s relationship with the landscape, communicating the importance of the forest in sustaining Gothenburg's energy needs. Wood chips left over from local forestry are used to generate heating for the city - the ashes of which are eventually returned to the forest floor to provide essential nutrients for replanting and regrowth in a cycle of energy.
The work was funded under the one percent rule in a collaboration between Gothenburg Arts and Gothenburg Energy.
